Week 4 - The 40 Day Soul Fast! Dr. Cindy Trimm

Last week we learned that the soul is the seat of your mind, will, and emotions; it is the navigational center of your life. Your soul provides the habitat for your thoughts--the environment from which your thought-life springs forth.

You can harness your thoughts like a sailor harnesses the winds to take you wherever you want to go. In the words of poet William Ernest Henley, "[You] are the master of your fate, [you] are the captain of your soul!"
In his timeless classic, As A Man Thinketh, James Allen observed, "All that a man achieves or fails to achieve is a direct result of his own thoughts."
Your life moves in the direction of your thoughts. Thoughts are the ever-present currents that move you either closer to, or further away from, your best future.
How you think has the power to transform your life!
Your life is what your thoughts make it. James Allen wrote that a person "will find that as he alters his thoughts towards things and other people, things and other people will alter towards him."
What consumes your thoughts gives you an indication of what is taking root in your soul--and as a result, what could be binding up your relationships, your spiritual growth, your professional success, and your prosperity.
Your outer world is a direct result of your inner world.
Setting aside time to cultivate your inner life--to tend the garden of your thoughts--will produce an abundant harvest in what goes on around you. Be mindful of how you think--and think for a change!

Proverbs tells us, "As he thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7).
Proverbs 4:23 NLT: Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
